Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Man - FEMA trailer manufacturers are in high cotton this year. I feel sorry for these people - at least in LA you know what to do, and not do, in these sutiations. I'm not sending any money to the Red Cross, though. They're getting what they deserve for living in a flash flood zone. (tongue firmly planted in cheek)

Thanks to global warming, the northeast will be the "new tropics" so they best get used to it, and learn to build houses on stilts. atleast they have bedrock, instead of alluvial soil, to build a foundation on.

Not that I'm cold hearted, well... not too cold hearted. It's just when you come from a state were rainfall of 2 inches in an hour is bad, but not amazing, and were flooding and sand-bagging are a rite of passage, all that flooding seems normal to me.

okay, I'm in a better mood now. (did I mention that apparantly both Brian and I have flu?) And I do feel bad for the people. Having waded through waist deep water, it's not fun. And I can't imagine have to evacuate with all my beasties. But, that's why I live on a hill and refused a first floor apartment.

always thinking ahead, Coz. Y'all have a crick behind y'all don't you?

yep, a crick, AND a lake, and a river. but we also have a drought. although we did recently get some decent rain. enough to cause the creek to undermine some of the bank by the road into the complex, and drop some boulders into the creek. but the hill of doom is tall.
