Legislating Sin?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Oh, cricky moses! can someone pass me a pail to vomit in?
Rep. Harris: Church-state separation 'a lie'
"If you aren't electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin"
"Harris' campaign released a statement Saturday saying she had been "speaking to a Christian audience, addressing a common misperception that people of faith should not be actively involved in government."
If I might address that last comment. I don't know anyone who is lumbered by the idea that "people of faith" should not be actively involved in government. I think most reasonable intelligent people understand that idea of "seperation of church and state" does not mean a religious person should not be actively involved in government. It means that religious people should not legisilate their religion. It was intent of the founding fathers - most of who where deitiest, btw - not to start another Theocrisy.... something about the persecution at the hands of Cromwell and all that puritan rable, as I recall.
Good Lord, she just makes me phycially ill.

EWE told us
Salon points out where voters are going to be denied the right to vote. In days past your local political machine would have taken care of all these problems for you, but no, those are bad and breed corruption. Can't have that.
Edwin told us, "You really don't want 'good government,' you want 'pretty good government.'"

Did you know . . .
kudzu is edible? Yep. Alton Brown ate some on his new show, Feasting on Asphalt. (He's cruising all over eating road food. hey - kudzu and roadsides are synonymous in the South are they not?) He did warn about pesticides, though.
Oh - do y'all like the new color scheme? I thought it was more collarddy than the tan and blue.
Mullet wearing freaks
Oh, freakshow today. We have as many New Yorkers and New Jerseaineans as any apartment complex in North Dallas but today a mullet wearing idiot pulled up beside me at the exit to Belt Line, old rusted Trans Am and all. I could hear the music before I saw the car. I'm sure if I had the window down I could have smelled him before seeing him too.
I cracked the window and a free concert was mine. To quote and this was at full scream, "I gots da double visions!" I put the window back up and as he pulled out, of course the tags on the "TeeA" were from Louisiana.
Will the real president from Texas please stand up?

I knew I liked LBJ for a reason.
